Strengthening Bonds Beyond The Shore

Behind every seafarer’s commitment at sea stands the steadfast support of their families. Acknowledging this vital bond, the recent Senior Officer Seminar in Udaipur welcomed not only officers but also their loved ones, offering a platform to strengthen connections and share meaningful experiences.
To put this commitment into practice, the Seafarer Welfare Cell, in collaboration with the International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN), organised a Family Outreach Programme dedicated to the families of our seafarers in attendance. The session was thoughtfully designed to bridge the gap between the families’ perceptions of life at sea and the actual day-to-day experiences and challenges faced by seafarers. It served as a platform to understand the unique challenges seafarers face, while also creating a warm, inclusive space for the family members where concerns could be voiced, guidance sought, and achievements celebrated. This three-hour interactive session sparked open-hearted conversations, strengthened bonds, and deepened mutual understanding between the company, the seafarers, and their families.
To further enrich the experience, the Welfare Team also arranged an enjoyable outing for the families – a delightful visit to the Udaipur Aquarium followed by a serene boating trip on the iconic Fateh Sagar Lake. These thoughtful gestures created cherished memories, fostered new friendships, and turned the seminar into an unforgettable experience. The seminar concluded on a truly joyful and positive note, celebrating not only the professionalism of our officers but also the strong support system behind them – their families.
