Honoring Captains for Their Years of Service

This past spring, during the Crew Seminar in Udaipur, Scorpio Marine Management had the privilege of honoring two esteemed senior captains as they marked their retirement after decades at sea. Captain Trevor Ashok Keelor and Captain Rohit Kumar have each dedicated their careers to guiding vessels and crews with distinction, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, leadership, and unwavering commitment.

Their recognition not only celebrates years of service but also the deep and lasting contributions they have made to Scorpio and to the wider maritime community. In their own words, they reflect on their journeys, the lessons learned, and the memories that will endure long after their final voyages.

“It was a moment of immense pride to be felicitated by Scorpio Marine Management India Pvt. Ltd. for long and dedicated service. The serene setting of the Radisson Udaipur Resort added a special charm to the occasion.

Being recognized in front of peers, mentors, and the extended Scorpio family was humbling. It brought back memories of years at sea—leading with conviction, overcoming challenges, and guiding teams through both calm and storm.

A highlight of the evening was reconnecting with officers who had once
sailed under my command. Seeing them now, thriving and accomplished, was deeply fulfilling. Each shared moment reminded me of the strong bonds built at sea. Meeting the Shore Office staff was equally memorable. Their encouragement and support throughout my time in Scorpio , has been invaluable and reflects the camaraderie that makes our profession so special.

I extend heartfelt thanks to Capt. Tarun Kumar and Mr. Yatin Khamkar, whose dedication strengthens the Scorpio Mumbai Team. A special mention goes to Capt. Pawan Kumar a true professional and a pleasure to work with. I also salute Capt. Ashley Cooper my friend and mentor in Scorpio, Monte Carlo.
